Vogue was founded in 1892 and was originally started as journal for those in the elite social scene. In 1909, Conde Nast Publications bought Vogue and turned it into the fashion magazine that it is today. Soon after, Vogue became one of the first magazines to print a cover photo in color, becoming a pioneer in the industry. In 1988 Anna Wintour became Vogue’s editor in chief. She started featuring Hollywood actresses instead of the traditional fashion models to reach a different demographic of people, and then started Teen Vogue and Men’s Vogue, expanding the brand.
